Sony had kept their Spider-Man villain movies separate from the MCU up until recently, so it's possible that Morbius could take place within the MCU. The second trailer then briefly showed the Oscorp tower from Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man movies while directly referencing Venom. The first trailer saw the return of Michael Keaton's Vulture from the MCU and also showed graffiti of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man.
